New Year Congratulatory Address of Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan
Dear people of Artsakh,
Time has come to bid farewell to the year of 2015. Each passing year leaves its indelible trace in history and our life, takes away part of it, giving way to new success, new accomplishments and deeds. With this very hope and anticipation, we welcome in the New Year, the year of 2016, which due to our joint endeavors is to become more efficient and prosperous for our country, nation and each family in Artsakh. These are our wishes and aspirations.
However, we live in geopolitical conditions full of difficulties and challenges, which naturally affect both our region and country. Consolidating our efforts, hand in hand with our sisters and brothers from Armenia and the Diaspora we do our best towards resolving issues we face, developing the economy and registering progress in various sectors.
Among the tasks to be solved, issues of national and state security as well as battle capability are of special importance. Strengthening and raising fighting capacity level of the Defense Army on a continuous basis have been among the foremost strategic directions and will always be at the spotlight of the state.
Due to brevity and courage of our heroic Army's servicemen all the enemy's mean and provocative activities were prevented, and the adversary, suffering great losses, was hurled back to its initial positions. Unfortunately, while defending the Motherland, some of our brave sons perished. Their names have been carved in gold in chronicles of the Artsakh Republic and the Armenian nation.
Very soon we are going to see in the New Year around the festive tables. I would like above all to congratulate those who are now in the trenches safeguarding our peace and security. I would like to congratulate all the personnel of the Defense Army. Honor and glory to our soldiers!
I convey my congratulations to the families of perished freedom fighters and servicemen. Our martyr friends are always with us; they stand by our side, we feel their presence in our deeds and memories.
I go on to congratulate our compatriots in Artsakh, Armenia and the Diaspora, wishing all of them peace, good health, prosperity and unshakable faith in bright future of our country.
Let the coming year, which is to mark the 25th anniversary of the Artsakh Republic's independence, be full of new success and achievements, be a year of improving the people's living standards and socioeconomic progress.
And let this festive mood prevail in your homes all the year round, bringing you joy, happiness and all the best!
Happy New Year and Merry Christmas!
