The Head of the State welcomed the initiative of the guests to visit Artsakh and get acquainted with the situation on the ground. Arayik Harutyunyan expressed his appreciation to the leadership of the party for being one of the initiators of the resolution on the need to recognize the Republic of Artsakh adopted by the French Senate and voting for it with the whole faction. "France was one of the unique countries that took the initiative to end the war unleashed against Artsakh. I am sorry, but the international community did not respond properly to the aggression of Azerbaijan, where various terrorist groups also took an active part. What happened against Artsakh has in fact increased security threats to both the region and European countries," A. Harutyunyan noted, highlighting the important role of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in the processes of maintaining peace in the region and further development of Artsakh.
Leader of the French Socialist Party Olivier Faure expressed gratitude to the Republic's President for warm reception and providing insight into the ongoing developments. He condemned the war crimes and expressed readiness to further consistently advance the cause of Artsakh's recognition.
The meeting, attended by representatives of the European office of the Armenian General Benevolent Union, addressed issues related to resoring the OSCE Minsk Group format for peaceful and final settlement of the Azerbaijani-Artsakh conflict, as well as eliminating the aftermath of the war.
