On November 17, President of the Republic of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan convened an extended working consultation to discuss the mechanisms of state support to be provided to the population aimed at overcoming the socio-econo
mic situation of the post-war period.
The Head of State noted that in the current difficult socio-economic situation, the government must take measures to alleviate the social burden of the population and restore the normal rhythm of life in the shortest time possible. According to the President, in the first stage there will be a number of social programs, in particular, within a year, all utilities (natural gas, electricity, water, etc.) and communication services (mobile and landline communications, the Internet) will be provided to the population free of charge, within reasonable volumes.
As stipulated by another important program, those indigent families, whose per capita income is below the threshold of the minimum consumer basket of AMD 60 thousand, will be provided with relevant financial support.
All the citizens who have been left homeless will receive a one-time state support in the amount of AMD 300 thousand per capita. The restoration of houses damaged in the aftermath of the war will start in the coming days.
"The government is committed to solving the housing problems of all our homeless citizens within a few years, and until then the state will continue to provide financial assistance to the above-mentioned families in the form of compensation for the rent of housing," the President noted.
The consultation also addressed a number of issues related to the financial assistance to the militia for
ces and other social programs
