On 27 August President of the Artsakh Republic Arayik Harutyunyan convoked a working consultation dedicated to organization of teaching process in educational institutions in the new academic year.
Minister of education, science and culture Lusine Gharakhanyan introduced the possibilities of organizing the educational process in the republic's schools and issues related to it. She, particularly, noted that at the result of coordinated activities with the Artsakh Commandant Office and Ministry of health care corresponding principles and methodic instructions had been elaborated for educational institutions.
After discussions it was decided that wearing masks in preschools, comprehensive schools and universities will be advisable but not obligatory. However, daily temperature measurement and disinfecting activities will be carried out in all educational institutions.
Arayik Harutyunyan emphasized that fight against the pandemic is an imperative of the day but ensuring uninterrupted activity of educational system is equally urgent. According to the Head of the State pandemic related risks have not decreased and for this reason in the new academic year in case of detecting a new hotbed of pandemic in any educational institution of the republic strict measures will be taken towards preventing the spread of the virus.
Though classes in comprehensive schools are to start on September 14, all first graders will symbolically go to school on September 1st.
