On 13 July Artsakh Republic President Arayik Harutyunyan convened a working consultation on the healthcare issues.
The Head of the State announced during the discussion with the representatives of the sphere that in concordance with the pre-election promise there will be a substantial increase in the salaries of health workers. From September 1, the salaries of doctors will increase by 30%, the salaries of nurses will rise by 20%, and those of junior medical staff - by 15%. A boost of wages of the medical workers is expected from January 1.
"The goal of this state policy is to create a quality healthcare system with the involvement of the best specialists. In addition, all kinds of vicious phenomena must be eradicated. Otherwise, the violators will be subject to severe legal liability. The government will carry out consistent work in that direction," noted the President.
Arayik Harutyunyan stressed once again that from January 1, basic health services will be completely free of charge for citizens.
The consultation addressed also the situation created in the republic as a result of the novel coronavirus and the efficiency of the measures taken against it. The officials in charge of the healthcare system commended the decisions adopted by the Commandant, expressing readiness to assist in their subsequent implementation.
