On 24 June Artsakh Republic President Arayik Harutyunyan received responsible officials of the Martouni regional administration led by head of the administration Ararat Melkoumyan who delivered a report on the process of the state programs being realized in the region, harvest activities and issues requiring a prompt solution.
The Head of the State noted that the chosen format of meetings with responsible officials of the regions aimed at increasing the efficiency of territorial administration and balanced development gives an opportunity to discuss the existing issues and to offer concrete solutions. Within this context, the President instructed to allocate from the state budget additional 100 million drams to improve in the current year the housing conditions of the families of perished freedom fighters of the Martouni region and 50 million drams for the purchase of building materials. Additional 100 million drams will be allocated for the implementation of the paving program in the communities of the region, and a loan of up to 150 million drams will be provided to "Varandashin" company for the solution of urgent problems arising during the construction works.
The President underscored that strict state control will be established over the allocated funds and in case of detecting violations, accountability will be inevitable.
For the solution of irrigation water issue Arayik Harutyunyan suggested presenting within a short period of time the list of non-functioning artesian wells built during the Soviet years, assuring that the necessary financial means will be provided for putting them in operation.
Issues related to the housing construction were discussed during the consultation. On the instruction of the President, within the framework of various social programs, construction of more than a dozen private houses in different communities of the region will start in the near future, as well as a possibility of building new multi-apartment districts in the town of Martouni will be studied.
