On 3 August Artsakh Republic President Arayik Harutyunyan convoked a working consultation dedicated to the problems of the capital's residential houses in unsafe condition.
The Head of the State noted that the problem should be solved completely taking into consideration the category of unsafe buildings. Within this context priority was given to the building N8 on Tigran Mets Street in Stepanakert which, according to experts, is in the most vulnerable condition from the prospects of seismic safety and demands urgent actions.
Following the reports of Mayor of Stepanakert David Sargsyan, Minister of Municipal Engineering Aram Sargsyan and Chairman of Cadastre and State Property Management Committee Karen Shahramanyan, the Republic's President gave instructions to solve the issue of temporary accommodation of 36 families living in the building, refund them the costs for apartment renting and begin the activities of capital reconstruction of the building. Arayik Haryutyunyan also stressed that in case of the residents' unwillingness to return to their apartments after the improvement activities, the Government will offer an alternative solution.
