On 15 January President of the Artsakh Republic Bako Sahakyan visited the Martakert region.
In the villages of Nor Aygestan, Nor Seisoulan, Hovtashen, Kichan and Nor Ghazanchi the President met with representatives of the communities and discussed with them problems the settlements face.
Thereafter in the village of Vank the Head of the State convoked a working consultation with heads of all communities of the Martakert region.
Issues related to socioeconomic development of the region were discussed during the consultation. According to the President the Martakert region is among the most war-devastated regions of the country, which also possesses huge potential and to develop the region it is necessary use properly this very potential.
President Sahakyan underlined that the development of the region is in the spotlight of the republic, simultaneously stressing that in order to reach the planned result it is important organize the work properly on site and in this process the communities are to play a significant role.
Bako Sahakyan gave concrete assignments to heads of the appropriate structures for proper realization of the projects carried out in the region.
Premier Ara Haroutyunyan and other officials accompanied the President during the visit.
