On 10 November President of the Artsakh Republic Bako Sahakyan visited the city of Bern and in the Swiss parliament met with a group of deputies representing leading parties of that country.
A wide range of issues related to life in Artsakh, bilateral relations, the Azerbaijani-Karabagh conflict settlement process and regional developments were discussed during the meeting.
President Sahakyan underlined that Artsakh was interested in establishing firm ties with the Swiss Confederation and within this context the development of inter-parliamentary ties is of special importance.
The Head of the State noted that NKR is especially interested in Swiss experience in agriculture and education spheres. Bako Sahakyan put a special emphasize on cooperation with Switzerland in developing democracy particularly the institute of local self-government.
The importance of deepening bilateral ties, elaborating and realizing concrete projects in this direction was mutually stressed.
Head of the central information department of the office of the NKR President David Babayan, envoy extraordinary and minister plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Switzerland Satenik Abgaryan, secretary of the Armenian-Swiss parliamentary friendship group Sargis Shahinyan and other officials partook at the meeting.
