On 13 November Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan received delegation of the Uruguayan House of Representatives led by head of structure Jorge Orrico.
A wide scope of issues related to the development of bilateral relations was discussed during the meeting. According to Bako Sahakyan Artsakh and Uruguay are friendly countries having much in common both in their history and state building philosophy, which creates favorable conditions for developing mutual cooperation between the two countries.
President Bako Sahakyan rated high the contribution of Uruguay to the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide, as well as its balanced policy in international recognition of the Artsakh Republic and the settlement of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict.
The importance of deepening relations between the two countries and the need for concrete steps in this direction was mutually noted.
NKR National Assembly speaker Ashot Ghulyan, Armenia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uruguay Vahagn Meliqyan, National Assembly deputies from the Republic of Armenia, Uruguay Armenian Cause Office representatives and other officials partook at the meeting.
