On 12 May Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan partook in the opening ceremony of the conference dedicated to the International Day of Nurses held at the Stepanakert Culture and Youth palace.
In his speech the Head of the State highlighted the organization of such a representative event in Artsakh, which had already become a good tradition and would undoubtedly have a positive impact on the development of the republic's healthcare sector.
According to Bako Sahakyan healthcare is among the key strategic branches of the country's economy and that is why large-scale projects aimed at ensuring qualitative medical service and continuous improvement of its level have been implemented in this filed.
The President emphasized the role of the medical personnel in particular that of the nurses in this process, who along with professional skills must also have high human qualities and serve as a link between doctors and patients.
Primate of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan, National Assembly Speaker Ashot Ghoulyan and other officials partook in the conference.
