On 25 October President Bako Sahakyan visited the village of Avetaranots partook in a solemn ceremony of opening a memorial complex commemorating the martyrs of the Artsakh Liberation War.
The Head of the State underlined in his speech that we had to always remember our martyrs' feat and heroism, do our best to realize their wishes and desires among which free, independent state and its continuous strengthening is the most sacramental one.
According to President Sahakyan this memorial complex should become a place of pilgrimage to remind of the past, make us be proud of our heroes and thus fill with hope and optimism for the future.
Thereafter the Head of the State handed in state awards to a group of the village's freedom fighters.
Primate of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan, other officials were present at the event.
