On 16 June Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan sent a condolence letter to the family of Galya Aroustamyan.
The letter runs as follows:
"I have learnt with deep sorrow about the untimely death of the chairwoman of the NKR Union of Relatives of Perished Freedom Fighters organization, a devoted daughter of our nation Galya Aroustamyan.
Galya Aroustamyan enjoyed great respect not only in the Motherland but also beyond its borders. She was a well-known public figure, took an active part in the Artsakh national-liberation struggle. Her contribution in keeping alive the memory of perished freedom-fighters and in the patriotic upbringing of the younger generation is invaluable.
On behalf of the Artsakh people, the authorities and personally myself I express deepest sympathies and condolences to the family, relatives and friends of the deceased, wish them courage and tenacity.
Mrs Aroustamyan's bright memory will always remain with us".
