On 4 August Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan convoked a working consultation with the Defense Army's supreme command staff during which reports were delivered on the recent incidents along the Karabagh-Azerbaijani border, gross violations of the ceasefire regime by Azerbaijan and attempts of its subversive-reconnoitering groups to penetrate into the territory of the Artsakh Republic.
President Sahakyan rated high the activities of the Defense Army's command and staff aimed at effectively rebuffing the enemy's advancement attempts, as a result of which it had retreat to initial position suffering great losses. According to Bako Sahakyan the Defense Army's actions demonstrated the high level of combat readiness of the armed forces, the unwavering spirit and patriotism of our soldiers.
The President also expressed gratitude to the Artsakh War veterans, having left for the frontline, highlighting the work done by the Artsakh Union of Freedom fighters in that direction.
Bako Sahakyan noted with regret that there were victims during the defense of the Fatherland and expressed condolences to the relatives of the perished soldiers on the irreversible loss.
Upon listening to defense minister Movses Hakobyan's report regarding the carried out operations, the current situation and possible developments the President gave concrete instructions to the Defense Army's supreme command staff.
President Sahakyan underlined the necessity of suppressing any activities of the enemy aimed at destabilizing situation in the borderline, noting at the same time that the official Stepanakert's devotion to peaceful settlement of the conflict.
