On 20 May Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan visited French Senate and met a group of senators.
The President introduced the current state of state building process in Artsakh, its domestic and foreign policy, the Azerbaijani-Karabagh conflict settlement process, regional trends as well as responded to questions posed by the attendees.
The President underlined that the official Stepanakert considered important the development of bilateral relations with France, considering it as a friendly country, one of the cradles of democracy, a country which had become a second homeland for hundreds of thousands Armenians escaping from their historical land following the Armenian Genocide.
The President rated high the role of France in the Azerbaijani-Karabagh conflict settlement process and in maintain peace and stability in our region.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to France Vigen Chitechyan was present at the meeting too.
