On 16 June President Bako Sahakyan together with Premier of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, who arrived in Artsakh on the same day, partook in Chartar town of the Martouni region at a solemn consecration ceremony of the newly-built Vardananq church.
The President emphasized the importance of having the church in Chartar from the viewpoint of maintaining and reinforcing national and spiritual values, considering the implementation of the project among the concrete manifestations of the Homeland-Diaspora cooperation, and expressed gratitude to the Russian philanthropist of Armenian origin Vladimir Avagyan for the construction of the church.
Primate of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan, the Artsakh Republic National Assembly chairman Ashot Ghoulyan, Artsakh Republic state minister Grigory Martorosyan, other officials, representatives from Armenia and the Diaspora, foreign guests were present at the ceremony.
